JICA Vice President Junichi Yamada met with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi at JICA Headquarters on May 18.
Vice President Yamada and Director-General Grossi exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and Iran, as well as issues in the energy sector to combat climate change and achieve a decarbonized society. The IAEA also introduced the “Rays of Hope” initiative for radiotherapy for cancer in Africa and elsewhere, and they agreed to continue discussions on cooperation with JICA in the health and medical sectors.
JICA will continue to work toward solving global development issues while further deepening mutual cooperation with the IAEA and other international organizations.
