Kawasaki to Launch Electric 3-wheel “Nosris” in Spring 2023

Posted on May 19, 2022 by News Admin

Kawasaki Motors Japan will launch the noslisu, an electric three-wheeled vehicle, in the spring of 2023 through its domestic sales and service network.

The “noslisu,” which will be commercialized this time, is an electrically power assisted three-wheel bicycle with an in-wheel motor. The company has been building and testing a business model hypothesis through exhibitions, test rides, and crowdfunding since September 2020. The product was selected through Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Business Idea Challenge, an in-house public solicitation program. In the crowdfunding campaign launched in May 2021, 50 units of the electrically power assisted bicycle specification and 50 units of the fully electric specification were sold out on the same day.

Two types of bicycles are available: electrically power assisted bicycles and fully electric bicycles that can be ridden without pedal operation (standard driver’s license required). The unique leaning mechanism provides stability and maneuverability unique to 3-wheel bicycles, enabling smooth and stable riding with low risk of tipping over. A large-capacity luggage loading space is located low between the two front wheels, allowing safe travel with a low center of gravity even when loaded with luggage.

Two models will be exhibited for reference at the BICYCLE-E MOBILITY CITY EXPO 2022 – Bicycle and Electric Mobility Community Building Expo in Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall on May 18-19 and at the Le Volunkers Meet Yokohama 2022 on May 21-22. The two models will be exhibited for reference at the
