Posted on May 14, 2022 by News Admin

Oriental Land, the operator of Tokyo Disney Resort, will introduce a new service, Disney Premier Access, on May 19. Prior to the launch, a press conference was held on May 13. In this issue, we will report on the actual experience of the new service at Tokyo Disney Resort.

Smooth experience with time specified. Purchase through the app and pay by credit card.

Oriental Land will begin introducing a new service called “Disney Premier Access” on May 19 that will allow guests to smoothly experience attractions for an additional 2,000 yen (per person, per visit, common adult/child price, non-cancellable in principle).

Disney Premier Access” is a paid service that allows visitors to reserve facilities they wish to experience from the “Tokyo Disney Resort App” (Android/iOS) after entering the parks, with a specified time, and experience them within a short waiting time.

The two attractions are “Soarin’: Fantastic Flight” at Tokyo DisneySea and “Beauty and the Beast: The Magical Story” at Tokyo Disneyland. The introduction of the system to these attractions is the most popular among guests at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, and the company has decided to introduce the system based on the usage conditions.

The background to the introduction of the new system is that at Tokyo Disney Resort, long waiting times at popular attractions have long been cited as a factor that reduces the value of the guest experience, and while the resort has been operating with measures to prevent infection by the Corona Disaster, lines at popular attractions tended to get longer, especially for social distance. In the midst of taking measures to prevent infection due to the corona disaster, lines at popular attractions tended to be long, especially to ensure social distance. The introduction of the new system had been discussed within the company prior to the corona outbreak, and as a result, the timing of the launch was decided upon.

The difference from the currently suspended “Disney FASTPASS” is that “visitors can specify the time they want to experience attractions. For those who have a limited amount of time to spend at the parks or who wish to enjoy the parks in a planned manner, this system will provide more options.

According to the person in charge, “The effect of being able to experience attractions that you want to ride as soon as possible or that you absolutely want to ride at a specified time is immeasurable. Combined with the “standby” system, which allows visitors to board rides by lining up on time, this system is sure to make the park experience even more fulfilling.

Prior to the launch, a test operation of the “Tokyo Disney Resort App Support” will begin on May 15. The App Support will be available in front of the Park Information Board at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, and will provide information on app operation, waiting times at each facility, and sales of “Disney Premier Access” tickets.

The price of 2,000 yen was set based on a number of factors, including the ability to reserve facilities at specific times, enjoy attractions in a short period of time, and the fact that there are more options at the parks.

It was also announced at the same time that a “mobile ordering system” function is scheduled to be added during FY2022. The purpose of the introduction of the system is to provide guests with a smooth and stress-free restaurant experience and to enhance the value of the experience. A trial has already been conducted at the Kasbah Food Court at Tokyo DisneySea from April 19 to 25, 2021, and the system has been well received by guests.
