Plan・Do・See will open “The Maritime Hotel Yokohama Bay” (3-9-1 Kaigan-dori, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) on January 30, 2027. Ahead of the opening, the company has released details about the facility and begun accepting reservations.
Completed in 1936, this 50-room private hotel is housed in the “Yokohama Yusen Building”—Yokohama’s last classical-style building—and is located a 2-minute walk from Bashamichi Station on the Minatomirai Line. Room rates start at 44,000 yen per room.
The guest rooms are designed around the themes of port cities around the world, such as “Bengal” (48–54 m²), “Alexandria” (75–80 m²), “Boston” (45 m²), and “Guangdong” (45 m²)—cities with which Yokohama Port once had trade ties. The rooms are fully equipped with Arita-ware tabletops, custom-made chairs upholstered in fabrics from around the world, Molton Brown bath amenities, Simmons beds, and Tivoli Audio Bluetooth speakers. Turn-down service is also provided from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The interior design makes use of the building’s history as the Yokohama branch of Nippon Yusen, featuring ship models and furnishings; a guest-only lounge that preserves the original ceiling design from the time of the hotel’s founding; “Restaurant Deck,” an all-day dining venue where guests can enjoy Italian and Spanish cuisine in an open kitchen setting with terrace seating; and a bar.
The hotel also features a 24-hour fitness center equipped with “Nike Strength” training equipment—the first of its kind in a Japanese hotel. While the hotel offers free rentals of sportswear and shoes, it has deliberately chosen not to include treadmills, instead guiding guests to running routes where they can enjoy the streets of Yokohama.
In addition, the hotel offers in-room spa treatments, room service, and rental bicycles exclusively for guests to enjoy a stroll along the bay.
