Lime Sets Up No-Riding Zones in Shibuya for Halloween; Suspends Service at Some Docking Stations

Posted on October 23, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Lime will suspend port operations and implement speed restrictions in the area around Shibuya Station during the Halloween season.

In response to a request from Shibuya Ward, from 5:00 p.m. on October 30 to 5:00 a.m. the following day, and from 5:00 p.m. on October 31 to 5:00 a.m. the following day—for a total of two nights. In addition, from the evening of October 30 through the early morning of November 1, geofencing technology will be used to prohibit Lime vehicles from operating in the vicinity of the traffic-restricted areas.

Geofencing is a system that uses location data—such as GPS—to establish virtual boundaries on a map; when a vehicle enters a restricted area, it automatically slows down and comes to a safe stop.
