The Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival Organizing Committee and the Osaka Prefectural Police have posted information on their official website regarding traffic restrictions in connection with the “38th Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival.”

The restrictions will be in effect from around 4:00 p.m. to around 11:00 p.m. on October 17 (in some areas, starting at 1:00 p.m.). Vehicular traffic will be prohibited on roads surrounding the Yodogawa River embankment and near Juso Station and Tsukamoto Station, while lane restrictions will be in effect in the Umekita area (Umeda Sky Building, Grand Front Osaka), on the Yodogawa Bridge, and on the Juso Bypass (Shin-Juso Bridge).

Northbound traffic on the Juso Bridge will be closed to vehicles starting around 5:30 p.m., and the bridge will be open to pedestrians; however, pedestrians will not be allowed to stop and watch the fireworks. Drivers are urged to use the Juso Bypass as a detour while the northbound lane is closed.

In addition, traffic congestion is expected on National Routes 2 and 176, as well as Yodogawa-dori. The times of traffic restrictions are subject to change depending on conditions at the scene.
