On September 24, the Mitsubishi International Horticultural Exposition General Committee—comprising 24 Mitsubishi Group companies—held a media briefing for GREEN×EXPO 2027 (the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition) and announced the exhibits and presentation details for the “Mitsubishi Everyone’s Future Pavilion.”
The Mitsubishi Everyone’s Future Museum is located next to the “Grand Event Plaza” on the south side of the “Urban GX Village” area, which stretches out right in front of the main gate.
The exterior features reclaimed wood from the “Mitsubishi Future Pavilion” at the Osaka-Kansai World Expo. Inside, under the theme “Connecting Together for a Prosperous Earth,” the facility offers a ride-based experience called “Let’s Find It! Seeds for the Future.”
The first person to greet visitors is Hisaya Iwasaki, the third president of Mitsubishi, who later came to be known as the “Country Gentleman.” Guided by Hisaya Iwasaki and the navigation character “Mina,” visitors set out on a journey to preserve our bountiful Earth for future generations.
As visitors ride through the facility, they journey through the world—the ocean, the earth, and the sky—and, through immersive experiences featuring visuals and sound, can experience the connection between our daily lives, society, and nature.
Throughout the tour, initiatives and possibilities that lead to a harmonious coexistence between future cities and nature are introduced as “Seeds for the Future.” Yu Shiohara, the executive director, said, “Through this experience, I hope each person will find their own ‘Seed for the Future’ and, even after leaving the pavilion, continue to think about the future by asking themselves, ‘What would I do?’”
At the previous 2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo, the Mitsubishi Group exhibited the “Mitsubishi Future Pavilion,” a theater-style pavilion exploring life from the deep sea to outer space.
Since the 1970 Osaka World Expo, Mitsubishi has exhibited the “Mitsubishi Future Pavilion” at every World Expo held in Japan, including the 2005 Aichi World Expo (Expo 2005), where it presented “Mitsubishi Future Pavilion @earth: What If There Were No Moon?” centered around the IFX Theater.
The name of the pavilion for the 2027 Horticultural Expo—”Mitsubishi Everyone’s Future Pavilion”—marks the company’s 11th appearance at the event. It was chosen to carry forward the philosophy the company has promoted at previous World Expos—”to continue contributing to the sustainable development of the Earth and society”—and to reflect the desire to create a happy tomorrow together.
Committee Chair Yoshiyuki Nojima expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Through this exhibition, we hope to reaffirm the importance of harmony between nature and people, and between nature and society, and use it as a catalyst for changing people’s awareness and behavior.”
Regarding the report circulating in some media outlets that “the Expo will feature a ride-based attraction for the first time in 22 years, since the 2005 World Exposition,” we contacted the Mitsubishi International Horticultural Exposition General Committee, which responded that “this was not an official announcement from the Committee.”
