Nishitetsu Travel has announced details of the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” travel assistance program on a special website. The program offers discounts of up to 60% in Kumamoto and Kagoshima, and up to 50% in the other five prefectures. The company began selling select tours in Kumamoto Prefecture on October 2.
As of 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd, reservations are being accepted for two sightseeing train packages—“Limited Express Asobo!” and “Kanpachi Ichiroku”—that tour the Aso and Yufuin areas and include overnight accommodations. Departing from and returning to Fukuoka, these two-day, one-night trips start at 82,800 yen per person (or 62,800 yen per person with discounts applied, based on two people sharing a room).
However, since there is a cap on the number of grant applications accepted, you will be notified after you apply whether the discount applies.
Sales of the standalone accommodation packages and the JR Set Free Plan (Kumamoto) are scheduled to begin in the second week of October. Additionally, it has been decided that Fukuoka and Saga will also be included among the eligible prefectures.
