“Toyoko Inn Tsukuba Station” Opens. 217 Rooms Just a 4-Minute Walk from the Station, with Easy Access to the International Conference Center and JAXA

Posted on September 30, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Toyoko Inn will open “Toyoko Inn Tsukuba Station” (1-9-9 Takezono, Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture) on September 11.

Located a 4-minute walk from Tsukuba Station, the hotel features a 14-story building with 217 rooms and can accommodate up to 420 guests. It is the 352nd location in Japan and the 7th in Ibaraki Prefecture. It also offers parking for 24 vehicles (1,000 yen per night, on a first-come, first-served basis).

The Tsukuba Science City stretches out around the hotel, home to a concentration of educational and research institutions. In addition, the Tsukuba International Congress Center—a 7-minute walk away—features a hall that can accommodate over 1,200 people, making the hotel well-suited for business travelers, including those on business trips and attending academic conferences.

It is conveniently located as a base for sightseeing, being about a 10-minute drive from the JAXA Tsukuba Space Center and about 30 minutes from Mount Tsukuba, one of Ibaraki Prefecture’s most famous tourist attractions. It also meets year-round demand for accommodations, including during the Tsukuba Marathon held every November and the winter entrance exams at Tsukuba University.

The hotel features state-of-the-art amenities in the lobby, at the front desk, and in the guest rooms. For breakfast, it offers a “Free Energizing Breakfast” in a buffet-style setting, which will also include local specialties from Ibaraki Prefecture.

In addition, “T-Place” has been set up as a space where guests can spend time before check-in or after check-out. It serves as a “third place” where guests can freely spend their time—whether preparing for work, planning their trip, or relaxing before departure.
