Hotel Metropolitan, operated by JR East Hotels, will begin selling a limited-quantity “Suica Penguin Cutlery & Pouch Set” starting at 12:00 p.m. on September 14. The set will be available at the Metropolitan Hotels Shop on the “JRE MALL” e-commerce site, priced at 2,300 yen (shipping not included).
This set includes cutlery made from natural bamboo and a pouch for carrying small items. The cutlery set includes five pieces: a spoon, a fork, chopsticks, a straw, and a straw brush for cleaning. The handles are adorned with the adorable faces of the Suica penguin and its chick. The set comes with a compact carrying case, which features a design of penguins happily baking together.
This original pouch, featuring the hotel logo and the Suica penguins, is a flat-style design with a natural texture. It’s said to be the perfect size for organizing small items such as lip balm, mirrors, and other cosmetics, as well as writing utensils, earphones, and charging cables.
