Posted on June 28, 2026 by Editor in Chief

JR Kyushu will release “Hakata⇔Kumamotoko! Adventure Ticket” that allows passengers to tour around Kumamoto Prefecture. The tickets are available from July 1 to December 31, and will be handled through “JR Kyushu Internet Train Reservations” from 5:30 a.m. one month to 11:00 p.m. two days prior to the boarding date.

This product includes a free return ticket for a nonreserved seat on a Kyushu Shinkansen train between Hakata and Kumamoto and unlimited rides in the Kumamoto area. The free section covers non-reserved seats on ordinary and rapid trains (not Kyushu Shinkansen), and there are two validity periods to choose from: two consecutive days or three days.

However, reservations and purchases must be made for at least two people, and the price per person is 9,990 yen for adults and 4,990 yen for children for a two-day ticket, and 10,990 yen for adults and 5,490 yen for children for a three-day ticket. Before boarding, passengers are required to pick up their tickets at “Midori-no madoguchi” or reserved-seat ticket vending machines located at major JR Kyushu stations.

In addition, a “reserved fare ticket” is required when boarding a standard seat of the Kyushu Shinkansen, and a “green fare ticket” is required when boarding a green car.

In Kumamoto area, passengers can board ordinary and rapid trains with the purchase of a “seat reservation ticket”; an express ticket, etc., is required separately when boarding conventional limited express trains, including D&S trains (only the fare portion is valid).
