The City of Nagoya has begun on-road training operations for its SRT surface public transportation system, which is being introduced in the Nagoya Station-Sakae area.

SRT stands for “Smart Roadway Transit,” a public transportation system that uses articulated buses to operate on roads. Meitetsu Bus is the operator of the service, which is scheduled to start operating on February 13, 2012.

The new route will operate from Sakae to Nagoya Station and back via Hirokoji Dori (East-West route). The route will circulate near Nagoya Station via Sakura-dori and Meieki-dori.
