The Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Ishikawa Prefecture announced that due to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024, vehicles were concentrated at the Otsu intersection in Nanao City and the Kompira intersection in Anamizu Town on National Route 249, causing traffic congestion at speeds below 10 km/h on the 18th, especially near Nakajima-cho in Nanao City.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the prefectural government have called for general vehicles to refrain from traveling to the Noto region, as many vehicles are entering the Noto Peninsula to save lives and assist in reconstruction efforts.
