Working Paper No. 230, “Risk Management for Smallholder Farmers: An Empirical Study on the Adoption of Weather-Index Crop Insurance in Rural Kenya,” by Keiko Fukumori, (authored by Keiko Fukumori, Ayumi Arai, and Tomoya Matsumoto) analyzes the factors influencing smallholder farmers’ adoption of weather-indexed insurance, using data from a survey of 495 smallholder farm households in rural Kenya.
