Summary of Tokyo Marathon traffic regulations. Not only vehicles but also bicycles and humans are not allowed to cross. Buses are also suspended and detoured.

Posted on March 7, 2023 by News Admin

In conjunction with the Tokyo Marathon 2023, traffic restrictions will be implemented in stages from 6:00 to 21:00 on the day of March 5 at various locations in Tokyo.

Since not only vehicular traffic will be blocked, but also bicycle and pedestrian crossings will not be allowed, it is recommended that you consider the congestion not only in the section in question but also in the surrounding area when going out.

In addition, Toei buses, Keio buses, and Kanto buses will be suspending service, detouring, and temporarily suspending stops in restricted areas, so those who normally use buses should check the detour routes by rail (related article: “Toei Buses to Suspend Service, Shorten Service, Detour, and Suspend Stops Due to Traffic Restrictions Associated with Tokyo Marathon”).
