On October 22 (local time), Singapore Airlines announced the next-generation version of its in-flight entertainment system, “KrisWorld.” It will be installed on 41 refurbished Airbus A350-900 aircraft and their long-range variant (A350-900 ULR), which will enter service in 2027 or later, as well as on the Boeing 777-9 aircraft scheduled for future introduction.
Personal monitors will include 32-inch 4K touchscreens in First Class and displays up to 22 inches in Business Class; on the Boeing 777-9, Premium Economy will feature 4K touchscreens up to 16 inches. OLED displays will be available on some aircraft.
The screen layout and user interface of Chris World have been redesigned. In addition to making it easier to find content with larger icons and an improved search function, the mini-player feature allows users to continue playing movies and other content in a small window while accessing other content. Furthermore, the sidebar can continuously display travel time to your destination, weather forecasts, and flight information.
The service offers more than 2,500 titles, including the latest Hollywood and international movies, international TV series, music, and podcasts. This includes content from Apple TV, the BBC, CNA, HBO Max, iQIYI, and Paramount+, while live news and sports are available via the BBC News and Sport 24 live TV channels.
On the Airbus A350-900 and the ULR, as well as the Boeing 777-9, which will be introduced in 2027 and beyond, the system will remember passengers’ preferred seat positions in First Class and Business Class—whether for meals, relaxation, or sleep—and apply them to their next flight. In First Class, passengers will also be able to save their preferred lighting settings.
