Iwatani Introduces an Even Smaller Portable Heater: the “My-Dan mini” Cassette Gas Stove. Lightweight and Ideal for Disasters

Iwatani Industries has launched a new product, the “My-Dan mini” cassette gas stove, which is an even smaller version of its compact “My-Dan” heater.

It will be available at home improvement stores, electronics retailers, and large supermarkets nationwide, as well as through the official online store “Iwatani i-Collect” and the company-operated store “Iwatani Outdoor Shop BASE.” The price is open, and the direct-sales price is 13,480 yen.

The “My-Dan” series consists of compact, portable heaters that run on gas cartridges, eliminating the need for batteries or power cords. Thanks to their compact and lightweight design, they are said to be useful in a variety of everyday settings as well as for disaster preparedness.

The “My Dan mini” retains all of its original features while reducing the width of the main unit by approximately 30 percent. Additionally, by integrating the handle into the main unit, the design has evolved into a compact body that is easy to carry with one hand.

Whereas heat output was previously adjustable in two levels (high and low), this product features a stepless adjustment system that allows for fine-tuning. Furthermore, by optimizing combustion efficiency, we have extended the continuous burning time while maintaining the same heating capacity as the previous model. At maximum heat output, it can operate continuously for approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes—about 20 minutes longer than the previous model. When set to “low,” the heater can be used continuously for approximately 10 hours.

The front guard on the main unit has been redesigned to be easily removable. This makes it simple to perform daily maintenance, such as cleaning out dust that has accumulated inside.
