Disney Store to Open at Amu Plaza Kagoshima; Will Sell 1,100 Items, Including Thick-Eyebrowed Mickey and Satsuma Dog Plush Keychains

The Disney Store will open a new location at Amu Plaza Kagoshima on November 19. To commemorate the grand opening, the store will sell items exclusive to this location, including plush keychains featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in special outfits unique to Kagoshima. A gift campaign will also be held.

The store’s design is based on the concept of a magical castle standing amidst a sea of clouds, enchanted by Mickey Mouse dressed as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” Shoppers can enjoy browsing in a space that feels like they’re surrounded by clouds bathed in the colors of a sunset.

A “Magical Screen” featuring a special effect that makes Disney Princesses appear has been installed inside the store. The store also features artwork depicting Disney characters emerging from the clouds.

The highlight of the limited-edition items is the “Plush Keychain” (3,300 yen). The design features a Mickey Mouse with thick eyebrows—reminiscent of a historical figure associated with Kagoshima—holding a Satsuma dog and wearing a kimono emblazoned with the character “Mi.”

The collection also includes a Minnie Mouse version holding a Kagoshima black pig, a local specialty. In this design, she is dressed in a kimono featuring a pattern of the Miyama Kirishima azalea, the prefectural flower of Kagoshima Prefecture. Additionally, limited-edition versions of the “Urupocha-chan Plush” (1,800 yen) featuring Mickey and Minnie will be available. In addition, the store will carry approximately 1,100 items, including popular products.

To celebrate the grand opening, customers who spend 5,000 yen or more will receive an original tote bag featuring a design exclusive to the Amu Plaza Kagoshima store. Shop cards will be distributed to those who request them. Additionally, a 5x points campaign will be held for Disney Store Club members. The campaign runs from November 19 to 21.
