On October 19, NAA (Narita International Airport) submitted a notification to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, setting December 31, 2034, as the new scheduled completion date for Runway C, which is currently under construction.
In addition, the company has submitted an application for a permit to modify the taxiway and apron currently under construction for the new cargo area, with the same scheduled completion date (December 31, 2034). The new taxiway will be 7,044 meters long, and the new apron will cover an area of 823,664 square meters.
Regarding Runway C and the new cargo area, the company stated, “We will aim to begin operations in the early 2030s by making every effort to acquire the land voluntarily while also utilizing the land expropriation system.”
