As part of relief efforts for the flood and mudslide damage in Nepal, additional emergency aid supplies—including a nucleic acid extraction and purification system and DNA extraction reagent kits—provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) arrived in the country, and a handover ceremony was held on October 8, 2026.

The handover ceremony was held at the Central Forensic Science Institute of the Nepal Police. In the presence of Mahabir Pun, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, representing Nepal, and Toru Maeda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Nepal, and Mizuki Matsuzaki, Director of the JICA Nepal Office, representing Japan, the equipment and supplies were handed over to the Nepalese side.

That’s all.
