Details Announced for Mobile Ordering on the Tokaido Shinkansen’s “Supreme Class.” Limited-Edition Drinks and Snacks Offered in “Completely Private Compartments”

JR Tokai Retailing Plus announced details of the mobile ordering service set to launch on October 1 on the Tokaido Shinkansen “Supreme Class” (between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka) and has launched a dedicated website.

JR Central and JR West will introduce a new premium seating class called “Supreme Class” (on the Nozomi and Hikari trains), where passengers can order drinks and snacks via tablets built into the seats. In addition to the items currently sold in Green Cars, the lineup will include products exclusive to Supreme Class, and a complimentary welcome service (snacks and one drink) will also be provided.

In addition, vehicles equipped with the Supreme Class will feature a major overhaul of their “coffee” offerings, with three varieties made from carefully selected, top-quality specialty coffee beans now available for purchase.

Additionally, the “Supreme Class Cabin”—a fully private compartment—will be introduced on October 1, while the “Supreme Class Seat”—a semi-private seat—is scheduled to be introduced during fiscal year 2027. Furthermore, a different menu is planned for the Sanyo Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka to Hakata).
