Unlimited 3-Day Travel on the Shinkansen and Limited Express Trains for 6,000 Points: “WESTER Points Kansai-Hokuriku Free Pass” Goes on Sale October 1

JR West will begin selling the “WESTER Points Kansai/Hokuriku Free Pass,” a great-value ticket that can be purchased using accumulated WESTER Points.

With a required point total of 6,000 points for adults and 3,000 points for children, you can enjoy unlimited travel for three days on the Hokuriku Shinkansen (Tsuruga–Itoigawa), the Thunderbird Limited Express (Osaka–Tsuruga), the Shirasagi Limited Express (Maibara–Tsuruga), and local trains (including Shin-Rapid and Rapid services) for 3 days. In addition, you can use reserved seats in standard class on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and limited express trains (Thunderbird/Shirasagi) within the free travel zone up to 6 times.

Tickets are on sale from October 1 to December 22, and are valid for travel from October 13 to December 24 (including trips beginning on December 22). Tickets can be purchased via the JR West online reservation service “e5489” from one month prior to the travel date through the day of travel.

For example, a round-trip ticket between Osaka and Kanazawa normally costs 18,820 yen, but you can purchase it for 6,000 points, saving 12,820 yen. Even if you take a round-trip tour with stops along the way—Osaka → Kanazawa → Toyama → Osaka—you can purchase the ticket for 6,000 points instead of the usual 23,090 yen, saving 17,090 yen (both examples are for one adult during the regular season, using a reserved seat in standard class on the Thunderbird Limited Express or the Hokuriku Shinkansen).
