Kagoshima Prefecture’s “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” is expected to begin in mid-October. The program will run through the end of February 2027 at the latest, with a discount fund totaling over 3 billion yen.

On September 17, Kagoshima Prefecture announced the details of the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” program. Reservations are expected to open in mid-October, and the discount will apply to stays from mid-October through the end of February 2027 (excluding December 26 through January 3, 2027).

Under the travel support program that offers discounts of up to 50 percent (up to 60 percent in Kumamoto and Kagoshima) on travel expenses in the seven prefectures of Kyushu, the total funding allocated for discounts in Kagoshima Prefecture amounts to a maximum of 3,023.12 million yen.

The eligible booking methods are: direct bookings with accommodations within the prefecture, bookings made at travel agency branches within the prefecture, and bookings made through online travel agencies (OTAs). Regarding OTAs, four companies—Jalan.net, Rakuten Travel, Yahoo! Travel, and Ikyu.com—have announced their plans to participate as of now, but Kagoshima Prefecture anticipates the participation of 10 operators (subject to change).

Kagoshima Prefecture is currently accepting applications from contractors to plan and manage the “Kyushu Recovery Support Discount” program through September 24. The start date for reservations and the announcement of participating businesses are expected to be made in early October or later.
