The Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition “Vermeer’s *Girl with a Pearl Earring*: Masterpieces of 17th-Century Dutch Painting—A Miraculous Return to Japan” in its 5th-floor exhibition hall through September 27.
Admission tickets are available only for specific dates and times. Although general sales were initially planned to be on a first-come, first-served basis, the overwhelming number of applications led to a change to a lottery system with advance sales only.
Currently, the “Ticket Pia” dedicated page is only accepting applications for visits from September 20 to 27. The application period ends at 12:00 p.m. on September 7, and results are scheduled to be announced around 3:00 p.m. on September 10.
In addition, tickets that have already been allocated through a lottery are available for resale at any time, and applications can be submitted until 11:59 p.m. on the day before the event.
In addition, the Lake Biwa Hotel (2-40 Hamacho, Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture) is currently offering a package that includes tickets to the Vermeer exhibition with no designated date or time required. The eligible stay period is September 5–20. Room types include the Premier Luxury Floor “Aqua” and “Vista,” and guests can choose between a plan with breakfast only or a plan that includes both breakfast and dinner.
