Minamata City in Kumamoto Prefecture and the Minamata Tourism and Local Products Association are launching the “Dekakukka Minamata Campaign,” which offers a discount of up to 10,000 yen per person per night on accommodations within the city. Reservations open on August 28. The eligible stay period is from September 19 (check-in) through November 30 (check-out).
In addition to offering discounts on lodging rates at participating facilities in Yunoko Onsen, Yunotsuru Onsen, and downtown Minamata, each person will receive one 1,000-yen shopping voucher redeemable at participating businesses within the city (including restaurants, souvenir shops, taxis, and gas stations).
