JR West will significantly expand the number of trains offering its paid reserved-seat service, “Ureshito,” and will make it available during all time slots on weekdays, Saturdays, and holidays starting October 3. The service will be available on Rapid trains on the Biwako Line, JR Kyoto Line, and JR Kobe Line, as well as on the Yamatoji Rapid and Section Rapid trains on the Yamatoji Line and Osaka Loop Line.
“Ureshi-to” is a service in which the rear section of the last car on eligible trains is designated as a paid area, and the seats within that area are reserved seats. Only passengers holding reserved-seat tickets may use the paid area, which is separated from the rest of the car by a “noren” curtain.
For example, on the Yamato Line’s Yamatoji Rapid, Rapid, and Section Rapid services between Kamo/Nara and JR Namba/Teradacho, the number of trains will increase from the current 21 to 63 on weekdays and from 13 to 64 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Additionally, at JR Takarazuka (on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), the “Ureshito” service designation for G-Tanba-ji Rapid Train No. 730 (departing Shinoyamaguchi at 9:12 a.m. and arriving in Osaka at 10:19 a.m.) will be discontinued.
