Sagamihara City will host the “53rd Sagamihara Summer Fireworks Festival” on September 5. The event will take place in Suigo-Tana, Chuo Ward, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. (the fireworks display begins at 7:00 p.m.). In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to the following day, September 6.
A key feature of the event is that the viewing area is set close enough for spectators to see the pyrotechnicians at work. This year, multiple fireworks companies will participate, each launching distinctive displays that showcase their unique styles. A total of 8,000 fireworks are scheduled to be launched.
A paid ticket is required to enter the general visitor sponsor area (upstream of Takada Bridge) and the temporary parking lot; tickets are available through various ticket agencies (Rakuten Ticket, Seven Ticket, Lawson Ticket, and e+).
Area admission tickets are 3,500 yen per person; Reserved Seat A (metal folding chair, includes parking pass) is 9,000 yen; Reserved Seat B (metal folding chair) is 5,500 yen; and parking passes for the temporary riverside parking lot are 3,500 yen per vehicle, among other options.
Please note that traffic restrictions are scheduled to be in effect in the surrounding area from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the day of the event.
