The Japan RV Association has certified 32 new locations as “RV Parks,” facilities for overnight stays in vehicles (as of the end of July).
RV Parks are facilities that meet certain criteria to ensure comfortable and safe overnight stays in vehicles; there are currently 676 such locations nationwide, situated adjacent to hot spring resorts, traditional inns, roadside stations, and amusement parks. Of the 32 locations certified this time, 23 are “Convenience Store RV Parks” that utilize Lawson parking lots.
The remaining nine facilities include the “RV Park Shodoshima Daikannon” in Tonosho Town, Kagawa Prefecture—located adjacent to the “Shodoshima Daikannon” and offering visitors the chance to pray inside the Kannon statue’s womb— (1 Komagoe-Otsu, Tonosho-cho, Shodo-gun, Kagawa Prefecture), and “Tamagawa Gorge RV Park” (897-4 Shiide, Kudoyama-cho, Ito-gun, Wakayama Prefecture), located along a river in Kudoyama-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, where visitors can enjoy playing in the clear waters and having bonfires.
