JR Central and JR West will hold a series of “Supreme Class” experience events for the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines from September through November in five cities across the country (Tokyo, Shin-Osaka, Hiroshima, Hakata, and Nagoya stations). Participation is free.
Supreme Class is the top-tier seating class set to be introduced on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines starting in October 2026. It will offer two types of seating: the fully private “Supreme Class Cabin” and the semi-private “Supreme Class Seat.”
At the Tokyo and Nagoya venues, mock-ups of both the cabin and the seat will be on display. At the Osaka, Hiroshima, and Hakata venues, only the cabin mock-up will be on display. All displays will be accompanied by explanations from staff.
Seat trials at the Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya venues require advance reservations, and each session is expected to last about 5 to 10 minutes. At the Hiroshima and Hakata venues, no advance reservation is required, and visitors are free to look around and try out the seats; however, depending on crowd levels, there may be wait times, or the tour may close early.
Advance reservations are being accepted via LINE on a first-come, first-served basis until the start time of each session. Once you add the dedicated account as a friend, you can obtain an “Admission Reservation Ticket” with a queue number via the reservation form for each venue. Each reservation allows participation by the person making the reservation and up to one guest.
As of 4:30 p.m. on August 18, the reporter confirmed that all sessions at the Tokyo venue for the first day (September 1) were marked as “Registration Closed.” However, since cancellations may occur right up until the last minute, be sure to check the registration status frequently.
Please note that only at the Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya venues hosted by JR Central will participants who make a reservation for the experience receive one bottle of original mineral water (not for sale) featuring the Supreme Class logo. If you complete a short survey after the experience, you will receive one “Tsujirihei Honten Kyoto Matcha Bamboo Baumkuchen”—a treat scheduled to be offered as part of the Supreme Class welcome service—per reservation.
