Tokyo Disneyland announced that the official name of the new attraction set to open in the spring of 2027 is “Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue” and unveiled the logo design for the first time.
“Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue” is the world’s first indoor attraction based on the movie “Sugar Rush.” It will open in the “Tomorrowland” area on the site formerly occupied by “Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster,” which closed in October 2024.
Featuring a new technology that is a first for Tokyo Disney Resort, guests can immerse themselves in the story and enjoy an interactive gaming experience unlike any other.
In this attraction, guests enter the game world to save “Sugar Rush”—a racing game set in Candyland that’s on the verge of being destroyed by “Sugar Bugs,” glitches created by the Candy King.
Join forces with familiar movie characters like “Ralph” and “Vanellope” to turn the Sugar Bugs back into their original cute forms—like gummy bears and cupcakes.
Adjacent to the facility, a shop called “Pixel Prism,” which sells attraction-related merchandise and other items, has opened. Replacing the “Popping Pod” popcorn wagon—which is currently closed in Tomorrowland—a new popcorn stand called “Popping Station” has also opened.
Tomorrowland is currently undergoing a major renovation of its surrounding area with a total investment of 100 billion yen. In 2027, “Space Mountain: Earthrise” will open, and the surrounding plaza will be renamed “Tomorrowland Plaza.” We’ll cover the details in a separate article.
