NEXCO West Japan has updated the status of expressway closures within the jurisdiction of its Kyushu Branch due to the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred on July 28.
The situation regarding the closures on the Kyushu Expressway between Matsuhashi IC and Ebino IC (both directions) and on the South Kyushu Expressway between Yatsushiro JCT and Hinagu IC (both directions) remains unchanged from yesterday, the 30th; however, emergency vehicles are expected to be able to use certain sections of these roads sometime on the 31st. Details regarding the permissible times, vehicle types, and access procedures will be announced separately.
