Rakuten Travel has announced a popularity ranking of accommodations where guests can enjoy “all-inclusive” stays this summer, focusing on properties in the nine prefectures surrounding the Kanto region (Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Yamanashi, and Shizuoka) that have a user review rating of 4.3 or higher.
“All-inclusive” refers to a pricing structure in which the room rate includes optional costs such as meals, drinks, and activities. Not only has the number of accommodations offering this plan increased by about 1.2 times compared to the previous year, but the number of nights booked under this plan from July to August has also risen to more than 1.4 times the level of the same period last year. The most common users are families traveling with children, followed by couples.
Ranking first is the “Ito Hotel Juraku” in Shizuoka Prefecture. The hotel features semi-private board game areas where groups can play together, and offers a variety of activities, including making seasonal crafts such as soap, creating mizuhiki decorations, copying Buddhist sutras, knitting, and coloring.
The lounge, which offers free drinks, features live music in the evenings. The buffet-style dinner, made with local ingredients, reportedly includes a wide selection of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
Ranked second is the “Yaizu Onsen Yaizu Grand Hotel” in Shizuoka Prefecture, a resort hotel known for its footbath terrace and lounge, which offer direct views of Suruga Bay and Mount Fuji. In addition to a wide range of indoor activities—such as a kids’ play area with a ball pit and building blocks, a library area, and a sports game area—the hotel also offers outdoor areas where guests can enjoy sports like putter golf and molkky.
The terrace, reserved for hotel guests, serves drinks and original desserts. The dinner buffet, featuring approximately 60 Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes made with seafood from Yaizu, allows guests to enjoy freshly prepared dishes such as stone-oven-baked pizza.
At “1000M of Hospitality: Yatsugatake Hotel Fuka” in Yamanashi Prefecture, which ranked third, guests can enjoy activities such as taking a walk with a mother goat and her kid, feeding the goats, roasting marshmallows over a campfire, and a complimentary welcome pizza baked in a wood-fired oven—all at no extra charge. For dinner, the hotel offers two types of French course menus, and guests can enjoy a selection of approximately 50 beverages, including wines and sake from Yamanashi Prefecture, at their leisure.
In fourth place is the “Oarai Hotel” in Ibaraki Prefecture, followed by the “Kinugawa Onsen Nikko Kinugawa Hotel Mikazuki” in Tochigi Prefecture in fifth place.
