NEXCO Central Japan, Central Japan Exis, and Chubu Civil Engineering will open “ONE SEANA,” a mixed-use leisure facility, on September 18 within EXPASA Hamana Lake (combined northbound and southbound) on the Tomei Expressway (E1).
Taking advantage of EXPASA Hamana Lake’s location—which offers a panoramic view of Lake Hamana—and its spacious grounds, the facility features “Hamana Maze,” the first permanent 3D maze of its kind at any service area (SA) or parking area (PA) in Japan, as well as areas for dining and souvenir shops. The site covers approximately 2,700 square meters.
The maze consists of three types: the “Plant Maze,” which incorporates famous landmarks and sculptures from Hamamatsu and Lake Hamana; the “Construction Site Maze,” featuring two courses—an obstacle course and a slope—built using construction scaffolding materials; and the “Art Maze,” designed by students at Nagoya University of the Arts with a red thread motif. There is an admission fee to play.
The retail area features a “Starbucks Coffee Hamana Lake Service Area ONE SEANA” location, which sells classic Starbucks lattes, Frappuccinos, sandwiches, and more. Additionally, “The Gate,” a pet supply store with an on-site paid dog run, offers travel items for dogs and experiences designed to create lasting memories.
In addition, the motorcycle accessories store “Hamanako Moto Studio” has debuted as a new business format operated by the Ricoland Group; it will serve as a satellite store to the flagship shop of major helmet manufacturer “SHOEI,” selling original merchandise and more.
In addition, the observation spot “Lovers’ Sanctuary,” which had been closed since September 2025, will reopen following a partial renovation. At the same time, a stamp rally will begin at EXPASA Hamana Lake, and participants who collect all the stamps will receive limited-edition prizes—such as “Michimaru-kun” glitter stickers and clear file folders—on a first-come, first-served basis.
