Hirakata Park (1-1 Hirakata Koen-cho, Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture) is hosting “The Boon,” a summer-only outdoor pool, through September 13.
This year, in addition to the debut of three new water play features at “Donbura,” a massive 210-meter-long flowing pool, the park now features a total of four pools: the “Wanpaku Pool” exclusively for children, the “Siesta Pool” with sweeping views, and the “Nagisa Pool,” which gets deeper as you go further in. Visitors can also enjoy one of the largest water slides in the Kansai region.
Inside the pool area, visitors can see a giant “Shark” character—which also appears in the new commercial “Hirakata Shark” featuring Junichi Okada, known as the “Super Hirapa Brother”—as well as his partner, “Wara Director-kun.” In addition, the Lagoon Stage hosts “Splash Beat,” a water show where massive jets of water shoot out in time with original music, and visitors can join the cast in a water fight using their own water guns.
To help ensure a comfortable stay, the park has introduced “paid rest areas” where visitors can reserve a spot in advance. In addition, “Poppies Store”—the merchandise shop that has reopened with a white-themed redesign—is selling limited-edition water guns, heat-beating items, and original snacks.
Pool admission is 1,000 yen for adults and 600 yen for children; a separate park admission ticket is required. The “Park Admission Ticket + The Boon Admission Ticket + Free Pass Voucher” package, available exclusively on Asoview!, costs 6,300 yen for adults, 5,100 yen for elementary school students, and 3,800 yen for children ages 2 to preschool age. The “Park Admission Ticket + The Boon Admission Ticket” package costs 2,900 yen for adults, 1,700 yen for elementary school students, and 1,700 yen for children ages 2 to preschool age.
Business hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. The event will be closed on August 27, September 1–4, and September 7–11.
