On August 1, in conjunction with the “51st Edogawa Ward Fireworks Festival,” traffic restrictions will be in effect around the venue—the Edogawa Riverbank near Tokyo Metropolitan Shinozaki Park (1-25-1 Kami-Shinozaki, Edogawa Ward, Tokyo).
On the day of the event, from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., vehicle traffic will be restricted in the area bounded by Chiba Kaido, Shibamata Kaido, Shikotsu Kaido, and Shinozaki Kaido. Of these, the section of Shinozaki Kaido from the Isatsuka Intersection to Shindo-guchi, as well as the temporary prefectural road within Tokyo Metropolitan Shinozaki Park, will be completely closed to traffic starting at 5:00 PM. In particular, around Shinozaki Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line—an area expected to be especially congested—restrictions will be implemented earlier, and the area will be designated as a complete vehicle ban zone starting at 4:30 p.m.
In addition, since significant traffic congestion is expected on the expressway, the Keiyo-Ichikawa Parking Area (southbound) on the Keiyo Expressway will be temporarily closed from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The event organizing committee strictly prohibits access by car or bicycle and urges attendees to use public transportation. However, since “Shinozaki Station” and “Koiwa Station” are expected to be extremely crowded, the committee recommends using stations such as “Edogawa Station” and “Mizue Station” instead. At Shinozaki Station in particular, meeting others inside the station or near the entrances and exits will not be permitted. To alleviate congestion during the evening commute from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the “Shinozaki Station West Exit” will be closed, and passengers will be directed to the South Exit.
During traffic restrictions, some sections of the bus routes will also be diverted. Starting at 4:30 p.m., the Keisei Bus “Ko 72” route will not stop at the “Kita-Shinozaki” bus stop; the nearby “Minami-Koiwa 2-chome” bus stop will be the closest stop to the venue.
Please note that the stop for the Toei Bus “Fun28” route will be moved from in front of Shinozaki Station to near the Keiyo Expressway, and the last bus is scheduled to depart at 8:11 p.m., before the fireworks end. Please be aware that no special buses will run from Shinozaki Station toward Ichinoe Station or Kasai Station.
