Fuji Five Lakes Steamship, a subsidiary of the Fuji-Q Group, will begin operating a new route, the “Oishi Park Line,” connecting Oishi Park in Kawaguchiko (located at 2525-11 Oishi, Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture) and Funatsu Pier on the opposite shore, starting July 17.
This new service was established to provide water access to “Oishi Park,” a popular spot on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi offering spectacular views of Mount Fuji. While the existing sightseeing boat “Tensei,” which circles Lake Kawaguchi, will continue to operate, the “Oishi Park Line” (operated by the existing vessel “An Soleil”) as a shuttle service, which will help alleviate congestion on local bus routes caused by overtourism—a long-standing issue. Details such as the schedule and fares will be announced at a later date on the official website.
To coincide with the launch of this new route, the “Kawaguchiko Ropeway & Oishi Park Shuttle Set”—which combines a round-trip ticket for the Mount Fuji Panorama Ropeway with a ticket for the new route—is now on sale. Prices are 2,500 yen for adults and 1,250 yen for children. This package allows visitors to enjoy views of Mount Fuji from both the sky and the lake, while efficiently exploring the Kawaguchiko area’s most popular attractions. At Oishi Park, the lavender fields—featuring approximately 100,000 plants—are in full bloom from mid-June through July.
