Is this even live concert merchandise for grown women anymore? The Baymax glow sticks are way too legit—let me just talk about them for a sec: “Summer Cool Off at Tokyo Disney Resort”

Tokyo Disneyland released collaboration merchandise with Mrs. GREEN APPLE featuring Baymax on July 1. Of the 10 items in the collection, I’d like to talk about the one that really caught my eye: the Baymax-shaped penlight, or “glowing toy” (3,200 yen).

This is the second year of the collaboration between the two. During the event period, the collaboration song “Carrying Happiness (Tokyo Disney Resort Version)” will be featured in the attraction “Baymax’s Happy Ride” and the parade “Baymax’s Mission Cool Down.”

In 2025, the “Glowing Bangle” (1,400 yen) was sold as a merchandise item designed to enhance the enjoyment of the collaboration project, but in 2026, both the size and price (3,200 yen) have been upgraded. Last year, it was strictly Baymax merchandise and was sold separately from the Mrs. collaboration, but this year it is being marketed as part of the Mrs. collaboration merchandise line.

While the light-up patterns for the glowing bracelet come in a total of five colors and can only be switched using a button, the penlight is equipped with an automatic control function. Although the official specification lists 12 colors, we confirmed that there are actually 14 patterns available when switching via the button.

In addition, near the “Baymax’s Happy Ride” attraction, the lights transform into controlled glow sticks. On the park entrance side, they can no longer be operated manually in front of the “Treasure Comet” shop, and on the opposite side, they can no longer be operated manually once you enter Tomorrowland.

It seems they’ve put a lot of thought into the automatic lighting effects as well—it’s not just a simple on-and-off flickering. For example, even with the same blue lights, during the pre-chorus line “Let’s hold each other tight,” the lights flash rapidly in time with the “jaka-jaka” rhythm heard on the “iou” part, and while at the end of the chorus, during “We’re all riding along today,” the lights flash with a slight pause—like a heartbeat—in sync with the beat heard in the background of the drawn-out “ru~.”

Thanks to this clever design, it was interesting to see how, even though the people waiting in line around the attraction were all swaying and dancing in their own ways, they still seemed to be moving in unison.

Since I’ve never been to a live event where they sell these controlled flashlights, it might have felt even more novel to me. But whether you’re a JAM’S (Mrs. Fan) or just someone who wants to dance around the attractions—or even if you’re simply looking to enjoy the park at night—I highly recommend considering buying one, regardless of age or gender.

Please note, however, that the special effects synchronized with the attraction are available for a limited time only, through September 14. While the collaboration song is guaranteed to play every time after 7:00 PM, please be aware that during the day, the existing six songs plus the collaboration song will play at random. Also, as a safety precaution, please be sure to wear the strap when waving your glow sticks.

In addition to the “Disney & Company” store at Tokyo Disneyland and the official app (online), as of July 1, these items were also available at carts near attractions (cashless payments only) and at “Bon Voyage” outside the park. Please check the Tokyo Disney Resort app for the latest stock information.
