ANA’s “Pokémon Jet Red” domestic flight begins service on July 29. Eighty people will be selected by lottery to attend the unveiling event; applications are accepted until the 12th.

As the first installment of its special Pokémon 30th Anniversary campaign, ANA will launch the “Pokémon Jet Red”—a specially painted aircraft operating on domestic scheduled flights—on July 29. In addition, on the previous day, July 28, the airline will hold an unveiling event for the aircraft at the ANA hangar at Haneda Airport.

The aircraft used is a medium-sized Boeing 787-8 passenger jet (registration number: JA819A). Its exterior features dynamic depictions of “Fire-type” Pokémon—including Pikachu, Charmander, and Chimchar—which serve as the first companions in each series’ adventures.

On the first day of service, the airline will operate a total of four flights, starting with Flight NH243 departing Haneda at 8:15 a.m. bound for Fukuoka, followed by Flight NH248 departing Fukuoka, Flight NH255 departing Haneda, and Flight NH260 departing Fukuoka.

Eighty people, selected by lottery from among ANA Mileage Club members who applied, will be invited to the unveiling event to be held the day before. They will have the opportunity to be among the first to view the specially painted “Pokémon Jet Red” up close. Applications are being accepted on the dedicated application page until July 12.

Following the red aircraft, the company plans to introduce a second aircraft, the “Pokémon Jet Green,” and a third, the “Pokémon Jet Blue.”
