On June 9, JICA Vice President Miyazaki met with Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at JICA headquarters.
Vice President Miyazaki congratulated Mr. Chau on his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister under Vietnam’s new government, which took office in April of this year, and expressed JICA’s commitment to continuing its cooperation to support Vietnam’s further economic growth. He also touched on past initiatives in fields such as education, public administration, and science and technology, and conveyed JICA’s intention to deepen cooperation between Japan and Vietnam through a wide range of fields and development schemes in the future.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister Chau expressed his gratitude for the cooperation provided to date by the Japanese government and JICA. As the Vietnamese government aims to achieve double-digit GDP growth starting in 2026, he expressed high expectations for JICA projects.
Furthermore, the two sides exchanged views on key issues and future directions for cooperation, and reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening ties between Japan and Vietnam.
