The new flavor of the Shinkansen’s “Super Hard Ice Cream” is “La France.” It goes on sale July 1 at vending machines on trains and at stations.

JR East Service Creation, JR Central Retailing Plus, and JR West Food Service Net will launch their new “Sujata Ice Cream (La France Pears from Yamagata Prefecture)” on July 1 on Shinkansen trains and other locations.

This fourth installment in a series of original flavors developed through a joint project by three companies features La France pear juice from Yamagata Prefecture. The result is a premium ice cream that stands out for its rich, 10% milk fat content and the refreshing flavor of La France pears. It is priced at 520 yen per scoop for onboard sales and mobile ordering services; 440 yen at station vending machines and retail stores; and 4,950 yen for a 6-pack and 6,180 yen for an 11-pack on the official JR-PLUS online shop.
