The event organizing committee, led by Ise City in Mie Prefecture, will hold the “74th Ise Jingu Dedicatory National Fireworks Festival” on July 18. The venue is the banks of the Miyagawa River (upstream from Watarai Bridge), and the fireworks will be launched from 7:20 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine; however, in the event of severe weather, it will be postponed to September 5. If severe weather persists on September 5, the event will be rescheduled to the following day, September 6.
This is one of the “Three Great Fireworks Competitions in Japan,” where fireworks artists selected from across the country present their displays at Ise Grand Shrine and compete in beauty and technical skill. The event consists of two segments: the “Fireworks Display Segment,” featuring the launch of extra-large No. 10 shells, and the “Star Mine Segment,” in which a variety of fireworks are fired rhythmically in rapid succession. From the opening to the climax, spectators can enjoy a total of approximately 8,400 fireworks in a spectacular display.
Tickets for the stands are now on general sale at Ticket Pia, FamilyMart, and 7-Eleven (sales end once tickets are sold out). Seat options include reserved seating (4,000 yen), general admission (3,000 yen), and reserved seating for two (12,000 yen).
In addition, until June 30, applications are being accepted for this program as a return gift option for hometown tax donations to Ise City through “Furusato Choice.”
