JR Central will sell the “JR Central ☆ Summer Unlimited Ride Pass” in 2026, continuing the tradition from last year. The sales period is July 3 through September 6, and the validity period is July 18 through September 7.
This pass offers two days of unlimited travel in non-reserved seats on local trains (including rapid trains) on all conventional lines within the JR Central service area. To use reserved seats in standard-class cars, Green Cars, or Home Liners, you must purchase a reserved-seat ticket or similar. This pass cannot be used on limited-express trains; in addition to a limited-express ticket, the fare for the travel section must be paid separately.
The fare is 3,900 yen (1,900 yen for children). This product is available exclusively to passengers who have reserved a Tokaido Shinkansen ticket via the EX Service for any station between Atami Station and Maibara Station. It can be purchased via a banner displayed on the “EX Travel Destination Reservation” page after booking the Shinkansen. To use the ticket, you must pick it up at a ticket counter or a ticket vending machine marked with the “5489 Service” logo by the day of travel.
You can select a travel date up to one month in advance, regardless of the Shinkansen travel date; however, you must complete the purchase by the day you pick up (or have issued) your Shinkansen ticket or by the day you actually travel on the Shinkansen. Additionally, you may purchase only one of these tickets per person per Shinkansen reservation.
