Amazon (Amazon Japan) is having a sale on Langs Japan’s Bear Attack bear repellent spray. Normally priced at 17,600 yen, it is 24% off at 13,362 yen at the time of writing.
This spray has been clinically tested and confirmed to be effective against large bears such as grizzly bears in North America. It is expected to have the same effect on Japanese bears (brown and black bears) and contains 2.0% capsaicin derived from chili peppers. The flying distance is approximately 7 to 8 meters, and the spraying time is approximately 5 to 7 seconds. The product is said to be effective when sprayed onto the face of a bear.
