The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) renewed a memorandum of cooperation with the French development assistance agency, the French Agency for Development (AFD) Group, and held a signing ceremony at the Embassy of France in Tokyo on April 1.
From 2019 onwards, AFD and JICA will continue to cooperate on climate change action, natural disaster risk reduction, energy transition, sustainable transportation and transport development, private sector support, health and sanitation, and assistance to vulnerable areas, with a focus on the Indo-Pacific and African regions, based on the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation signed between the two organizations. The two countries continue to cooperate on climate change, natural disaster risk reduction, energy transition, sustainable transportation, private sector support, health, and assistance to vulnerable areas.
