Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Matsunoi to Open in Minakami, Gunma Prefecture on August 7. Spectacular view of Mt. Tanigawa, open-air baths, and local gourmet buffet

GENSEN HOLDINGS will open “Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Matsunoi” (551 Yubara, Minakami-cho, Tone-gun, Gunma Prefecture) on August 7. Accompanying the opening, the company began accepting lodging reservations on May 11.

Located in the Mizukami Onsen area, about 2 hours from central Tokyo by Shinkansen bullet train or car. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Tone River and Mt. Tanigawa, the spacious facility has three open-air baths and two large bathhouses that are fed by its own hot spring.

The hotel will also be equipped with five private baths that ensure privacy, and will offer Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, Japanese-Western-style rooms, and guest rooms with outdoor hot spring baths. The hotel also has an all-weather kids’ park and a summer-only indoor swimming pool, and is recommended for travelers with children.

The restaurant offers an evening and morning buffet featuring a variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes with a spectacular view of the mountains. The lineup includes tempura freshly deep-fried in a live kitchen, onsen seiro-mushi (hot spring steamed food) prepared on the table, and Gunma’s famous stewed pork cutlet, sauced pork cutlet on rice, and grilled manju (a Japanese sweet bun filled with bean paste).

The hotel also features a premium lounge with a garden view and a library with a fireplace. Drinks, including alcohol, are available for guests to enjoy upon arrival, after taking a bath, before going to bed, and throughout their stay.
