Tokyo Skytree, Gion Tsujiri collaboration sweets and Matcha (powdered green tea) making event. First appearance of “Sorakara-chan” in fresh green color.

Tokyo Skytree (1-1-2 Oshiage, Sumida-ku, Tokyo) will hold the “TOKYO Matcha Time at SKYTREE: Taste Japanese Tea in the Sky” event from April 23 to July 6.

The observation decks “Floor 350” and “Floor 340” will be decorated with photo spots and other decorations that bring the Japanese tea culture to life, and a collaboration menu with Gion Tsujiri, a long-established tea shop with its head office in Gion, Kyoto, will be available at the observation deck “SKYTREE CAFE” (Floor 350).

The event offers a variety of visually delicious Japanese sweets and drinks, such as the “Uji Green Tea Kaoru Japanese Sundae” (1,430 yen) with shiratama and grains of red bean paste, and the “Wasanbon Uji Green Tea Ore” (1,100 yen) topped with three-color dumplings. A special ticket that combines the event’s limited menu with an admission ticket to the TEMBO DECK (drink set from 2,700 yen, sweets set from 3,050 yen) will also be on sale.

In addition, the “Taste the Season of New Green Tea: Tokyo Sorachakai,” a morning Matcha (powdered green tea) making workshop on the 350th floor of the TEMBO DECK, will be held on May 9 and June 13, 2012.

There will also be a special lighting of Tokyo Skytree “Kocha Kasta” with an image of matcha green tea, and a “Sorakara-chan” meet and greet in a new costume inspired by the fresh green of the new tea season. For details, please check the special website.
