Ken-O Expressway “Narita Airport Area Interchange (tentative name)” is now in operation, improving access to the new cargo area between Daiei JCT and Matsuo Yokoshiba Interchange, scheduled to be in service in FY2026.

On April 13, NAA (Narita International Airport) announced that a new MLIT-subsidized project and a project permit from Chiba Prefecture had been granted for the “Narita Airport Peripheral IC (tentative name).

The Narita Airport Interchange (tentative name) is an interchange on the Ken-O Expressway adjacent to the new cargo area and new passenger terminal at Narita Airport, and is located between the Ken-O Narita IC and the Tako IC of the Daiei JCT – Matsuo Yokoshiba IC, which is under construction (scheduled to be available in FY2026).

The completion of the new freight area will improve access from the new freight area to the Ken-O Narita Interchange (9 minutes shorter) and to the Tako Interchange (6 minutes shorter) by approximately 10 minutes (9 minutes shorter) and 9 minutes (6 minutes shorter), respectively.
