Hoshino Resort launches the first phase of the “Onsen Meguri Kai-no-Tsuki Pass 2026,” a travel sub-subscription for over 70 years old. Stay 12 nights a year at any of the 23 Kai throughout Japan.

This is a senior travel support service that allows guests to stay 12 nights per year at any of 23 facilities throughout Japan. In response to the annual sellout, this year, the fifth year of the service, the number of rooms sold has been expanded to 800 pairs.

Hoshino Resort’s “Kai,” a brand of onsen ryokan, has launched “Onsen Meguri Kai no Toushiken 2026,” a travel subscriptions for those aged 70 and over only.

Sales period: April 8, 2026 – December 24, 2026

Eligible Stay Period:

First phase (April-June) purchases are from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

The second phase (September-December) purchases will be made from January 1 to December 31, 2027

*Excludes days before holidays, national holidays, GW, peak season such as Obon and year-end and New Year holidays, and days when the museum is closed.

Eligible for use: 70 years old and over (purchases can be made by those under 70 years old)

There are three types of rates: Plan A (300,000 yen) for a single traveler, Plan B (600,000 yen) for a couple or two friends, and Plan C (720,000 yen) that can accommodate up to three people.

Plan A and B allow one person under the age of 70 to accompany the group for an additional fee of 35,000 yen per night, while Plan C allows one person under the age of 70 to accompany any three persons for no additional fee, and the discount rate is up to 60% off per night.

The 12-night annual subscription allows guests to stay at a different kai all year round, or to stay at the same kai for up to four nights in a row, allowing them to enjoy a hot spring tour around the country according to the season, or to spend two to four days on a single trip touring an area with multiple facilities scattered throughout the neighborhood. It is also possible for people under the age of 70 to purchase the tickets as a gift on behalf of others and give them to family members or acquaintances.

In 2026, three new hotels in the Kai series are scheduled to open: “Kai Kusatsu” in June, “Kai Miyajima” in summer, and “Kai Zao” in autumn. In addition, “Kai Matsumoto” is scheduled to reopen in the summer. Please check the official website for the reservation and stay period for each facility.
