Ashikaga Flower Park (607 Sakoma-cho, Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi Prefecture) will hold a spring festival, “Fuji no Hana Monogatari: Dai Wisteria Festival 2026,” starting tomorrow, April 11.
The “Big Wisteria Ledge” with 160-year-old giant wisteria trees covering 600 tatami mats (1,000 m2), the 80-m-long white wisteria tunnel, the world-famous double-flowered black dragon wisteria, and more than 350 other varieties in the garden can be enjoyed until the beginning or middle of May.
In particular, the large wisteria are blooming about a week earlier than last year, and the best time to view them is expected to be earlier as a whole. For this reason, it has been decided to move up the start of the annual nighttime light-up event by three days, to be held from April 15 to May 20.
During the festival, visitors can also enjoy special foods available only at the Oto Festival, such as “Oto Gozen,” which includes wisteria-colored soba noodles and Tochigi ingredients, and “Wisteria Soft,” a sweet and gorgeous wisteria-flavored soft-serve ice cream.
Admission fees vary depending on blooming conditions, ranging from 1,200 yen to 2,300 yen for adults and 600 yen to 1,200 yen for children. Advance tickets are available at convenience stores and KKday.
