Refrigerated vending machine for ekiben at Odawara Station, the first of its kind in JR East Ekinka. About 15 kinds of bento including chicken bento, Fukagawa-meshi, pressed sushi, etc.

JR East Cross Station Foods Company will install the first refrigerated “ekiben vending machine” inside a JR East station (excluding station buildings), which will be available from March 26, 2012. The machine will be located inside the ticket gates of Odawara Station, and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to the end of the train. Only transportation-related electronic money can be used for payment.

It features the ability to purchase ekiben even when sales staff is not available, and will create an environment where station users can easily obtain ekiben.

The lineup includes approximately 15 types of bento boxes and pressed sushi from long-established brands such as “Chicken Bento”, “Fukagawa-meshi” from Nihonbashi Omasu, “Aji-no-Oshibushi” from Shonan Kamakura Ofunaken, and “Koa-Aji-Oshibushi” from Tokaeken.
